got to the launch around 7:15am Saturday morning. Against my better judgement I headed north along the Back Levee Canal and fished a spot I fished w/ rodeo winner a month ago, zero. went to try and find the other spot we killed them at but couldn't find it. Headed back, down Back Levee to Bay Lafourche and found a tone of bait but couldn't seem to find any fish. Ran south into Black Bay and started fishin around some islands, catching nothing but schoolies. Found and island with a buch of gules sitting on it and fished the western corner wear the water was running around it and wham, Rog hooks up to a nice 18"speck, I cast out and wham another, Zach casts and wham, I thought he was going over the side, It must have been the big bull drum we saw later, but it popped his line. Managed to catch a few more keeper trout everything else was either too small or a gaftop. Ran south and fished a group of small islands more gaftops until I found a spot were water running through a little bit of grass and where the island came to a small point and area about 3'x3' and I could see something in the water made a cast, Wham red I managed 4 more 16"-17" reds in that little spot. Brought back 5 specks and 5 reds all caught on purple/chartruse chubs Was a good time, alot of laughing, its fun to fish a new area.
