The three of us fshed Buras for the first time Saturday, left Joshuas around 8am and headed south found nothing but dirty water but managed to find schoolies under some birdies and a keeper red that morning. Came in to grab some lunch and picked up my buddys cousin Jeremy who is from the area. We headed back out at 3 and managed to get on top of some specks we fished non stop from about 3:30 and were back at the launch at 7pm with 100 trout, thanks to Jeremy and his knowledge of the area. First the bite was on with glow DOA's under a poppin cork, around 5:00 I switched over to a catch 2000 and managed about 10 more, then Chris and Doug started catching on cacahoes, so we started throwing them too and sure enough, we caught on just about every color. Purple/chartruse, purple/white, glow, avacado, tuxedo, you name it. Jeremy managed to hook a nice bull red on a top water, handed the rod to my friend Chris who pulled him in. What turned out to be a disater of a trip turned out to be great. To bad we didn't have a camera, was able to snap these pics with a camera phone. Doug, Chris and I Chris and Jeremy with a nice bull caught on topwater.

Hit Buras again Wednesday (5/16), beautiful weather. We got out just before the sky unloaded on us. Tried to go after monster trout with top dogs and queen cacahoes managed one 5lb and 3 4.5lber's. The other 20 were nice 2-3lb, caught one 17" red and two flounder. Try and add a few pics when I get the camera back.
