Hey guys, most of you do not know me but I fished with Donald Wayne when we had the Tourny against yall earlier this year (DDBRC/ACFA) *For those of you that did fish it , I am the one who caught the LOST 7lbs trout prefishing on Friday* Which by the way is on my wall now!!!! ;D ;D ;D Anyway since then I have been hooked on chasing them spottail bastages and have spent several weekends over there in LA. I quickly realized that I was in need of a Casting platform for the front of the boat to have any chance of real sight fishing. I got to checking around and found out 2 things, one, they are really pround of those things (350-400 bucks for one that was only 16" tall) and I just really couldnt find what I wanted, so I built my own! I ended up building a couple for other guys that fish the IFA and FLW and have had nothing but positive feedback. I think some of you know Barnie White and he used his platform this past weekend to fishing in 4th in the FLW Championship out of Orange Beach. Congrats again Barnie and Steve White.
Anyhoo I have one that I built for another team and some personal issues have come up and they are not going be able to take it.
Specs:
*Mahogany top 1 1/4" thick with 5 coats on Marine Spar Varnish w/nonskid in top two coats. (Who said a platform cant look good!)(If stored properly, out of the weather when not in use, it will give you many years of service without any maintenance needed)
*Brushed Aluminum frame with rubber feet
*Stainless Steel turnbuckle and eyelets to hold it down, you will notice in one of the pics a 3/16" tall plate is the only thing that stays on the deck when not in use.
*Platform stand 24 1/2" over deck, 30" wide (back), 20 1/2" wide (front), 16" deep.
The first four pics show the actual platfrom that is for sale, the other pics are of a shorter version that just show the hardware and how it attaches to the deck. The only differance is the taller platfrom has a 6-7" link of chain going from the bottom of the platform to the top hook on the turnbuckle.
