I am looking to change to a different braided line this year. It looks like Fins is out of business or discontinued their braided line. I also used power pro but I am looking to change. Any suggestions? Anyone ever use McCoy's Braid? www.mccoyfishingline.com/products_fishingline_braid.html

Paul, Slow down when you are typing. I'm having trouble following what you are saying. Also, comma's and periods are cool too. Fill me in on that report. When are we going fishing? Let me know.

I made one trip using the Suffix Performance and I am satisfied. We only caight trout but it casts better than Fins and it looks to be stronger. The true test will be on redfish but the preliminary report is satisfactory.

I use the new(last year new) stren braid. It performs pretty well but still have some issues with wind knots on spinning gear. Jay, I will take your reccomendation and try the Sufix stuff. I think I have tried almost everything but that so far.

I personly like the power pro, tipped with about 3' of 15#Big Game wound on a curado baitcaster. I need to change out one of my baitcasters and spinnigh reels. What strores around Baton Rouge carry the Suffix Performance braid, I might give it a try.

So what is the final vote, is it the suffix braid, or the power pro braid?

Tried it, liked the way it cast, very smooth on the curado's and as windy as it was backlash was not a problem. That due more to the breaking system on the curado's though.

I used Power pro for a whole season and then used Stren Braid last season. Stren was by far the better as I see it, really seems alot stronger than Power Pro, a-whole-lot. My partner started using the Suffix about the same time I switched to Stren, he says it's is good but he is also satisfied with the Stren. He doesn't use Baitcasters though, so it is a somewhat incomplete report . I use 30# Stren on a Curado and a Calcutta and 14#( I think) on my Stradics, and the only other line I liked this much was Fireline, which I used for about 3 years, then it seemed to get weak and started poping more than usuall. Oh and I couldn't use the Fireline on my Baitcasters, thats why I started with the Powerpro 40#. Anyway I don't see myself trying the Suffix unless I find a problem with the Stren.

If any of you guys want to try something new, the latest thing Power Pro came out with is the Phantom Red. Same line, just red and supposedly invisible to fish.
